Cistercian Day of the Austrian Cistercian Congregation

On Pentecost Tuesday, May 26, 2026, the “Cistercian Day” of the Austrian Cistercian Congregation took place at Vyšší Brod Abbey (Hohenfurth). Following a festive Holy Mass in the Abbey Church, Fr. Meinrad Tomann, Abbot Reinhold Dessl, and Abbot President Pius Maurer presented information regarding the Cistercian Order. The young community of Vyšší Brod extended a warm and hospitable welcome to the approximately 80 Cistercians in attendance—hailing from the seven monasteries of the Austrian Cistercian Congregation—and also offered them various thematic guided tours.
